Twisters

Dust Devils:

There are basically three kinds of twisters, hurricane, tornado, and dust devils. Hurricane originates over warm ocean water in tropical late summer. Tornado occurs along with thunderstorms, between cold and warm air masses. Dust devil, on the other hand, comes on typical clear sunny days, and, unlike hurricanes and tornadoes, it is mostly harmless.

The cause of dust devils may not be as simple as what experts claim to be, that wind shear and rising air play a role in the formation of rotating dust devils. It can be seen on open plains, water surface, snow field, and on volcano lava flow. The most prominent feature of dust devil is in its explosiveness, similar to the tornado in general. On planet Mars dust devils are also seen regularly soaring even higher than those on earth, even though the atmosphere is thinner than 1% of earth atmosphere.

In this video, bulging water underneath the water devil is quite obvious. When crossing to frozen water surface it literally threw ice sheets into air like no wind will ever be able to.
